The DEC and DEE Circus Arts programs at the École de cirque de Québec are designed to enable the acquisition of qualities essential to the practice of the profession of circus artist, such as autonomy, a sense of responsibility and the ability to adapt. It also allows future circus artists to develop a self-knowledge that enables them to make artistic and technical choices and to recognize and choose the work contexts that best suit them.
The training is student-centered, developmental, and has a fundamental and progressive character.
Circus Arts training places as much emphasis on understanding the world of the circus as on practicing the multidisciplinary disciplines involved, and does so from an artistic, entrepreneurial and social perspective. Finally, it allows the student to develop as an individual and to invest in the milieu in a responsible and creative manner.
